A look back at Transfer CFT’s journey
In the late 70s and early 80s, computing was rapidly expanding across industries, making data exchange increasingly critical. Back then, IT systems were largely based around mainframes, and there was no reliable or secure way to connect them.
Many sectors, particularly banking, were facing major challenges and looking for solutions.
Thanks to the innovation and forward-thinking of pioneers, a breakthrough emerged: direct transfers between banking systems, providing speed and security for the very first time. And so, the journey of Transfer CFT began.
Over the years, Transfer CFT has continuously evolved to meet customers’ growing needs—embracing hybrid integration, cloud computing, and supporting standardized and industry-specific protocols such as PeSIT or SFTP.

Transfer CFT, a behind-the-scenes hero
Transfer CFT has literally been driving the world for many years. Daimler Truck, a global leader in commercial vehicle manufacturing, has harnessed the power of Axway MFT to enhance its worldwide operations, enabling them to achieve unparalleled agility for next generation trucks and buses production.
Transfer CFT is one of the core MFT components for making the data flows run every day for its entire manufacturing process. If it stops, the entire production facility stops.
Fast forward, what about fueling those vehicles? Similarly, when price tags are updated in the gas station near your home, it’s once again Axway MFT.
Again, the solution is used at TotalEnergies worldwide for critical flows including all financial flows for headquarters and subsidiaries. TotalEnergies is a major fuel producer and distributor, and its logistics flows for warehouses and refineries, particularly in Europe, are critical.
Transfer CFT ensures all stocks consumption and distribution including all transactions and prices at service stations are secured and not disrupted. And this is just for one industry.

Celebrating a milestone in the Managed File Transfer history
Fast forward to 2024, we reached the 40-year milestone and for an IT solution it is truly something special. To mark the occasion, we hosted a celebration on Thursday, September 19 at Maison Sage, Paris.
As guests arrived, they were welcomed with drinks, creating a relaxed atmosphere as everyone mingled and the venue filled up.
When the time was right, Meetesh Patel, General Manager of Axway’s Managed File Transfer Product Line, and I (Didier Dabon, Transfer CFT Director) took the stage, sharing stories about the evolution of Transfer CFT — from its early challenges to its many successes. The speeches were filled with laughter and memories that reminded everyone of how far we’ve come.
Afterward, the night shifted into a more playful mood with casino-style games, adding a vintage twist that transported guests to another era, guests enjoyed a delicious cocktail dinner, making the night both elegant and fun.
Then came the highlight—the lights dimmed, and a stunning anniversary cake was unveiled to cheers and applause. Group photos captured the joy of the moment, and as the night wore on, everyone hit the dance floor, celebrating the evening in full swing. It was a night of nostalgia, fun, and plenty of memories made.
Of course, none of this would be possible without the hard work and dedication of all the talented people who’ve contributed to the success of Transfer CFT over the years. A huge thank you to everyone who made this milestone possible!
