As we discussed, APIs are increasingly becoming more prominent tools to achieve a digital business competitive advantage. To meet the skyrocketing demands that define a digital business era, agility is now critical to all organizations. As they look to achieve a level of business agility, many organizations are turning to an API-centric architecture and Axway’s leadership in API Management.
But why APIs? Because APIs represent a natural, flexible solution designed to work with Service Oriented Architecture. This allows organizations to drive digital business transformation. Everything from rapid application delivery to partner information sharing to a more enhanced customer experience is made possible through APIs. Gartner recognized this trend in 2013 with its first-ever Application Services Governance Magic Quadrant. In 2018, Gartner also recognized Axway for a leader in Gartner Magic Quadrant for Content Collaboration.
As APIs have continued to proliferate at an exponential rate, with uses cases including everything from Internet of Things devices to B2B transactions, the need for effective API management and broader governance initiatives has become fundamental to success.
Axway’s leadership in API Management
When Axway acquired Vordel in 2012, we were the first to recognize the move towards integrating APIs with traditional B2B infrastructure. In fact, shortly after the acquisition, Intel announced its acquisition of Mashery, CA announced the acquisition of Layer 7 and more market consolidation in the space continued.
Since then, we couldn’t be prouder of the traction we’ve made in providing our customers with a robust and modern set of B2B infrastructure solutions, particularly with API Management. Gartner’s Magic Quadrant is a testament to this commitment. We look to build on our strengths in the application and B2B integration. This, in turn, powers mobile and Internet of Things capabilities.
