Acerta is a Belgian HR services provider supporting organizations across the full business lifecycle, with expertise in payroll, HR, legal advisory, transactions, and social affairs. The company serves self-employed workers, corporate employers, and accountants from 26 offices across Belgium, with roughly 2,000 employees processing more than 600,000 payroll calculations every month.

To support its mission of helping organizations and entrepreneurs grow, Acerta continuously invests in digital services that make collaboration with customers, partners, and accountants simpler, faster, and more transparent. Reliable and scalable integration capabilities are key enablers of that ambition.

That scale means thousands of data exchanges with external stakeholders, putting pressure on Acerta’s integration landscape.

Ad hoc integrations and slow onboarding were holding the ecosystem back

Acerta’s customers and partners needed accurate, compliant, and timely access to HR data, both in real time and through controlled data replication. But supporting those needs through ad hoc integrations was increasing complexity and risk across the ecosystem. Teams lacked a standardized way to discover, consume, govern, and communicate changes to integration assets, resulting in manual processes and longer onboarding cycles.

At the same time, interest in Acerta’s APIs was climbing steadily, with more than two onboarding requests from the external ecosystem arriving per week, each taking an average of two weeks to complete.

This growing demand made it essential to simplify and accelerate onboarding while offering clear and standardized, integration patterns. Acerta had been managing integrations through a custom-built portal that was not equipped to deliver at the pace the growing ecosystem required.

A single governed portal replaced the custom-built system

Acerta replaced its custom-built portal with the Acerta Integration Portal, built on the Axway Amplify PlatformThis new platform consolidates APIs, documentation, onboarding workflows, subscription management, and lifecycle communications into a single governed experience. It provides a standardized approach for discovering, consuming, and managing digital assets across Acerta’s ecosystem. By adopting Axway Amplify Platform, Acerta moved from a custom-built integration approach to a governed ecosystem model. The platform provides a scalable foundation for onboarding, asset governance, lifecycle management, and ecosystem analytics while enabling closer collaboration between business and IT teams.

For customers and partners, this translates into faster access to digital HR services, greater transparency on how integrations work, and a more predictable onboarding experience.

For Acerta’s internal teams, the portal provides full transparency into how integration assets are created, validated, and published. Business personas, not just developers, now contribute to asset creation, documentation, and lifecycle validation. Integration became a shared business-IT responsibility, improving collaboration, increasing accuracy, and accelerating delivery.

Onboarding time fell from an average of two weeks to approximately one hour, allowing customers and partners to adopt Acerta’s digital services significantly faster while reducing operational effort for internal teams. After just a few weeks in production, over 25 organizations and 60 active users were onboarded.

Acerta now has a centralized view of its digital consumers and a better understanding of how digital assets are consumed, thanks to better analytics. An improved consumer notification system also helps drive adoption.

The portal is expanding beyond APIs

Acerta is already planning the next phase of its integration transformation. The roadmap includes expanding the portal beyond APIs to additional integration styles: messaging, managed file transfer (MFT), and AI-assisted capabilities such as intelligent documentation, onboarding guidance, and consumption insights.

The company also plans to strengthen governance and automate more of the integration lifecycle, further reducing manual effort and reinforcing compliance, and to bring more business units into the producer’s role.

The ambition is to make the Acerta Integration Portal the single-entry point for digital collaboration across its HR ecosystem, helping customers, partners, and accountants connect with Acerta faster, more transparently, and at scale.

Axway Amplify Platform helps you consolidate, govern, and scale your integration ecosystem from a single platform.
