The DEA is launching its new Controlled Substance Ordering System (CSOS) on December 9, 2024, to facilitate electronic ordering of controlled substances in Schedules I through V. This month, the DEA announced that registration and renewal will become fully digital by January 10, 2025 – meaning, no more paper applications.
Note: this change only impacts CSOS registration/renewal – it does not impact registrant’s ability to continue ordering controlled substances with a paper DEA 222 Order Form.
