Monaco is a very glamorous place, it’s well known for royalty, its palace on top of the rock, its F1 race and the wealth of its inhabitants. But did you know that every year the most important event dedicated to IT security is organized there? This event is called “Les Assises de la Sécurité” and has become over the years the place to be for every major IT security vendor. It gathers for three days, with around 2,000 people who are busy doing business day and night.

Les Assises de la Sécurité

There is a mobile app available for download to manage your agenda, a good Wi-Fi network (rare enough in exhibitions that I find worth mentioning it) and a twitter hashtag #AssisesIT to develop brand awareness and search for contacts. In terms of logistics, there are bars, buffets and lunches/dinners of top quality.

The event takes place in the Grimaldi Forum, below are a few photos.

Securing Web Services and APIs is key in the new digital economy to integrate properly with mobile devices and cloud apps and I had the chance to talk to many Chief Security Officers of large French companies and administrations. Below me standing in front of the Axway kakemono.
You might wonder which companies were exhibiting here. I captured the list from the catalog:
Besides having a booth, there are one-to-one sessions organized with visitors who signed up for that. In average, exhibitors could count on 30 one-to-one meetings.

Price for exhibiting starts at 30k€, this is not peanuts. But if you consider that for three days from 9 am to 11 pm you spend your full time meeting key decision makers of big companies who are here to listen to what you have to say, you can find a good return on investment in your lead acquisition strategy.

For those who want to come here to do some networking, you can find people easily thanks to their badge they need to carry around the neck to enter the exhibition area. Simply screen the crowd and engage talking with the people you are interested in.
